headache

I’ve had a headache off and on for the past three weeks.  I’ve had enough Tylenol to kill a horse.  It’s been down to 1 out of 10 since yesterday.  It’s ramped up to about a 6 some days.  It really would be nice to get rid of this.  Causes?  Stress, the accident with the Soul (whiplash), caffeine withdrawal, something I ate or drank … hard to say.

fall

I bought new tires for the Chrysler Town & Country.  They’re not all season tires like before, like what we’ve all gotten used to.  If you look closely at your all season tires, you’ll notice they’re not rated for snow.  I now have all weather.  They have the little picture of a snowflake on the tire, designating them suitable as a snow tire.  I got them at Mo-Tires here in Lethbridge.

breakfast out

I got up this morning and wandered into the living room to greet M&F.  “Happy birthday,” I said.  I beat them to it.

I’m at Starbucks having a complimentary breakfast – not complimentary from Starbucks but from Mom.  “Thank you,” I said.  “What for?” she said.  “Breakfast,” I said.  “You went out for breakfast?” she asked.  “Not yet,” I replied.

We’re also supposed to go out for dinner this evening.  They asked where I wanted to go.  My first suggestion was Cora.  Floyd informed me that it was only open for breakfast & lunch.  I’ve never heard of a restaurant only open for breakfast & lunch, unless it was a in an industrial area or a lunchroom at a company.  My second choice – Denny’s.  Don’t laugh – they always have a chef on duty.  Apparently Mom had a bad meal there once – a deep fried dish – so she turned her nose up at it.  I think I’ll let them decide.  Probably Smitty’s!  Hmm.

another back window

I broke another back window – this time not even on my vehicle.  I bumped a long piece of metal sitting on top of the teardrop trailer while trying to catch another piece.  It flew off the front of the trailer and hit the back window of M&F’s car.  <sigh>  I’m at Benchmark now having it wrapped.  They won’t have a window in stock until Tuesday.

2010 Chrysler Town and Country

I thought I’d post some pictures of the new (used) van.  It’s a Chrysler Town and Country Limited.  It replaces the Kia Soul.  I saw it online for $11,900 at K1Z Auto Sales.  I phoned the dealer.  A guy named Khalil told me about the vehicle and offered it for $11,000.  I went the next day, test drove it, and put down a down payment.  Floyd and I went back two days later to pick it up.  Khalil cleaned and serviced it during that time, replacing the windshield, changing the oil, cleaning the brake dust out, etc.  The service record on it is good.  It had a minor accident worth about $1200 a few years ago.  The previous owner changed the transaxle (transmission) fluid.  It had a door ding on the passenger side.  I got a PDR guy to take it out.  I’ve had the van for a few weeks now.  No problems so far.  I’m enjoying the vehicle.

older

It used to be that everyone my age was older than me.  That is, until this accident.  Now I’m really slow, or have been since the crash.  Whiplash is an unforgiving thing.  If I should meet the guy who drove his van into my car, I’d kick him in the ass.  My back aches, and my neck is constantly stiff and sore.  The good news is that my headache is finally clearing up.  I go for physiotherapy twice a week.  It apparently will last about 90 days before it clears up.  I look forward to it.

physio, rental, van from K1Z, money, more money

Today …

  • I had my first physiotherapy appointment.  The accident has given me pretty poor mobility in the upper body.
  • I returned the rental van.  “You only put on 12km.”  Yes – I drove home then drove back again
  • F and I went to K1Z Auto Sales to pick up my new van.  Very pleased.
  • Mom paid for it using her line of credit until I get the Kia Soul settlement money.  Hopefully it’s not too long.
  • The van took $83 to fill from one-quarter full.  Wow.
