flooring

I was going to put “new flooring” as a heading and realized that the flooring I’m using at home is not new.  It’s rejected pieces from 520.  They just need to be scraped and scrubbed clean of debris to stick to the floor.

We had a sewer backup.  It seeped into the bathroom and entrance flooring layers that were put down over time.  It all had to be taken up.  There was wood laminate with foam cushion, then linoleum, then more linoleum.  Out it came.

That was about 1.5 years ago.  Yes, it’s taken a long time!  I’ve been busy.

new summer tires

I finally have new summer tires for the T&C.

I decided to go with Kirks for new rubber.  They corrected an error by K1z Auto and Gary Moe Chrysler (the annoying rattle in the rear end), new brakes all around, new winter tires, and other stuff.  They seem to know their stuff.

My last tires were pretty badly worn.  Floyd got some service done on his vehicle.  They said he needed new tires.  I compared his to mine, and he had three times the tread that I did.  Oh my.

Bird electric scooter

It seems we have a new rental electric scooter company in town.  Anybody hear of Bird?

The last company, Neuron, had bright orange scooters – rattly things that were like a tank version of a scooter.  (I’ve never actually rented one, but I heard others talk about them.)

Now we have Birds.

hawk

While whizzing along on my scooter, something caught my eye.  It was a bird on a light standard.  It was hard to make out detail way up there, looking against the sky, but Floyd later identified it from pictures as a hawk.

This was right on the edge of the coulee, so (s)he was most likely waiting for lunch.

target practise with Glenn’s pellet rifle

Long ago, when Glenn was alive, I offered to buy his pellet rifle from him.  It was used, but I made him a pretty good offer.  He said ‘no’.

Fast forward many years.  Glenn has been gone for many years now.  I have inherited his pellet rifle.  …  Maybe this is why he said ‘no’ – he knew it was a piece of crap.

I printed out a bullseye target and shot at it inside the garage.  I followed various instructions found online.
