Floyd complained about a “sore hip” for the past 10 or more days. It prevented him from helping me at the rental houses. This morning, We called 611 (Health Link, they call it) and had a pleasant but not very helpful conversation with a nurse.

green mystery
This is weird, almost as weird as the hidden receptacle (see hidden power). For the past several years, there was a green tinge of … well, a kind of goo, stuck to one of the receptacles in the kitchen. I often wondered, “Where is this green coming from?” I wracked my brain (but not much of a brain wrack – just a things-that-make-you-go-hmm kind of wrack), wondering what would cause it.
I finally figured it out. My Mom must have dribbled a little green food colouring on the end of the cord to the mixer. The mixer is about 45 or 50 years old – a Sunbeam, I think. Every time I beat some whipping cream, I got some green on the outlet. Duh.
The funny thing is, Mom hated the colour green.
website outage
I just wanted to say “sorry” to those who have been trying to get stuff done on my website. It was down for about one and a half days due to a glitch in DNS Naming Services. I think it’s all back to normal now.
desk work
I’m back doing desk work again, adding receipts to Microsoft Money. It’s been raining off and on for a few days, so I’m not working outside in the mud.
Besides that, my right wrist is sore (beginnings of carpal tunnel syndrome), so I’m taking it easy with the physical work. I wear a wrist brace most days.
No morning is complete without my cup of joe.
another birthday
Another birthday has come and gone. And I’m still here. I wish I could say the same about many people I have known.
“What did you do on your birthday?” Hmm. I drove to High River, AB, to pick up Floyd, did laundry, tutored, and watched Hill Street Blues reruns.
